Congratulations to Honorary Garda Cian Mulligan from Dungloe who was presented with his Garda uniform by Pat the Cope Gallagher with his new colleagues at Dungloe Garda Station. Cian was also accompanied by his proud family and local supporters Gavin Boyle and the Mary's from Dungloe Festival adding to the special occasion. HG Cian got straight to work patrolling the sports day along with his colleagues, HG Eva McCafferty and HG Rory McDevitt. Our hearts are saddened with An Garda Síochána Clare and Garda Lorraine Quain to hear the sad news on the passing of her Garda buddy, Honorary Garda Sofia Jukna (HG 491), who passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving parents Vaida and Redis and her brother Ugnius. Ar dheis De go raibh a hanam.Little Blue Hero laid to rest, she wore the uniform and gave her best,Little Blue Hero fought so brave every day, honour and courage every step of the way, Little Blue Hero smiled when you greet, now to take up duty on a heavenly beat,Little Blue Hero we will never forget and always remember the times we had met,Little Blue Hero under your care, watch upon us and your guiding light we will share.

***Fit Fest Fundraiser for Kids in Need – In Memory of Madison Stanley***Fit Fest Fundraiser is a fitness-based charity event in Memory of Madison Stanley. Madison, a Little Blue Hero, sadly passed away on the 15th April 2022, at the age of 3, after a long battle with neuroblastoma, a rare form of childhood cancer. The event in aid of Little Blue Heroes is being held at CrossFit Treaty, Clondrinagh, Limerick on Saturday 14th September 2024 from 9am to 4pm. Safehaven Marine are designers and builders of FRP pilot boats, patrol boats, crew transfer vessels, hydrographic survey catamarans, naval & military craft and unique custom private motor yachts.We are so thankful and honoured to Frank Kowalski and all the team at Safehaven Marine who did a marine charity run for Little Blue Heroes with their T-2000 'VOYAGER' by providing sponsored four 20 mile runs out of Cork Harbour and along the south coast raising an amazing €36,000 done in partnership with our friends at Bumblebee 1000We are also very grateful to Safehaven Marine who took time out to bring Cork Honorary Gardaí Kate Fynn and Cayden Dempsey and their families onboard for a thrilling water patrol experience. Go raibh maith agaibh a mhuintir inis mor. As part of our Haven for Heroes 2024 programme supported by the International Police Association Galway Division, the Aran Islands Hotel, Aran Island Ferries, Aer Arann Islands, Dave from Kilronan hostel and the local Aran Islands community we were able to bring a number of our Little Blue Heroes families to the Aran Islands for a four day trip. Activities on the island for our Little Blue Heroes families included:- Seaside experience with the beach wheelchairs- Exclusive Aerial Tour of the islands with thanks to Aer Arann - Horse and carriage tour of Inis Mór with thanks to Thomas Faherty Tours - Shopping experience at the Aran Islands Knitwear, with thanks to Breege, Páidí and their amazing staff with their kind donation of Aran clothing. -IPA Galway for children’s activities, meals and goodies. Go go raibh mile maith agat to Niall Madigan & Keith Madigan, all their team at the Aran Island Hotel and Dave Terry of Kilronan who provided accommodation for our families and went above and beyond making them feel like VIPs. Special thanks to Garda Aidan Coughlan (Cill Rónáin Garda Station) and native Cyril Ó Flaithearta & Fionnuala Hernon O Flaherty for their warm welcome, thoughtful gifts to our families and ongoing support behind the scenes.Special thanks to the Aran Ferries and all the crew who were fantastic in making the journey to and from the island so comfortable and without fuss for our families, taking good care of all the medical equipment and wheelchairs. Many thanks also to our own volunteers and the Police German students Lily & Inga who as part of their intern with the IPA volunteered their time to be personal assistances to the families during their stay on the island.Finally our sincere gratitude once again to Michael & Caroline Walsh, Joe Dunleavy, Brian O’Donnell and the IPA National Executive Committee with Carlo Griffin and Joyce O’ Grady who make all this possible by including Little Blue Heroes in their Aran Island events which makes so many beautiful memories and provides new experiences for our heroes. #LittleBlueHeroes #aranislands #ipagalway

Congratulations to Honorary Garda Logan who received his induction pack from Community Garda Pat Tarrant and Garda Shane O Connor at Rathfarnham Garda Station.
