Trading Hands Sale
Get your kid’s entire fall/winter wardrobe in one stop for 50-90% off retail. This will be at the Ozark Empire Fairgrounds E-Plex August 29-31 from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday - Friday, or 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. for half price day Saturday. Parking and admission is free.

Billings Community Fair
This has been a long running community event that has gone on for almost 60 years. Friday August 30, and Saturday August 31, check out more than 50 vendors, a petting zoo, inflatables, exhibit hall, and small engine truck pulls. Saturday will feature a cattle show, car show, parade, live music, vendors, cake walk and larger engine truck pulls. This is free to attend but the petting zoo and bounce houses have an admission cost.

Strafford High School Football 50th Reunion Weekend
All Strafford Football Alumni and their families are invited to a Strafford Football reunion weekend to celebrate 50 years of Strafford Football. The tailgate for alumni will begin at 5 p.m. on Friday, and September 6 before the Strafford vs Monett Game. Kickoff is at 7 p.m.. September 7 will feature Strafford Campus Walking Tours starting at the high school football field. 50th anniversary t-shirts will be available for purchase at the game.

10th Annual Stompin’ Out Hunger 5K Color Run/Walk
September 7 in Aurora, a 5k color run/walk will take place to benefit Harvest Food Pantry. Throughout the course, participants will be hit with colored powder, so avoid wearing light colored clothing that could stain. Registration costs $40 per person, anyone under 10 years old is free. Attendees must register by August 14 to be guaranteed a free T-shirt. Same-day registrations are welcome! There’s a Zumba warm-up at 9:15. The color blast is scheduled for 9:45 a.m., and the race itself begins at 10:00 a.m. Bounce house, face painting, and door prizes will be featured. Attendees can eat snow cones and hot dogs.

20th Annual Truck and Tractor Pull
September 6-7, the Freistatt Fire Dept will host two tractor/truck pools at the Lions Club Grounds on highway H in Freistatt. Admission is $10, but those 12 and under get in free.

10th Annual Food Truck Fest
This is a one-day event on September 14 will feature the best gourmet food trucks, carts and trailers from around the state of Missouri and beyond. Featuring the brightest and most inspired street chefs bringing everything from Burgers, Cajun, BBQ, Pizza, Tacos, Italian, Asian, and sweet treats, plus live entertainment on the Creative Audio stage, and vendors galore. It’s free to attend and park but you’ll need your wallet if you come hungry.

29th Annual Arkansas Hot Air Balloon Festival
September 13-15, this is free to attend and features live music, balloon races, helicopter rides, vendors, and more. Some activities have additional costs. The best time and place to view the hot air balloons flying is on Saturday and Sunday mornings from approximately 7:00 a.m. - approximately 9:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church located at 1400 S. Pine St.

Ozarks Model Railroad Association Train Show
September 20-21, at the Ozarks Empire Fairgrounds Central Events Center, check out a show displaying all things model trains. Adult ticket prices are $10. Children age 11 and under are free with a paid adult. Purchase of a Friday ticket gets you in free Saturday.

Wilder Days
Commemorate Laura Ingalls Wilder, Carl Mays, and Mansfield history at the annual Wilder Days. September 28 from 9:00 a.m.- 5:00 p.m., the Mansfield Square will be filled with games, entertainment, and contests. The Laura Ingalls Wilder Home and Museum will feature entertainment, Morgan Horses, and games on the grounds of Rocky Ridge Farm. The parade is at 1:00 with Dean Butler, who played Almanzo on the “Little House on the Prairie” tv series, as Parade Marshall.

Culture Fest on Commercial
Celebrate the rich diversity and heritage of southwest Missouri with a variety of vendors, performers, and local businesses. This is an opportunity to experience different cultures from around the world and the US in one place. The event is hosted on Historic Commercial Street at the base of the Jefferson Avenue Footbridge and will be from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on September 28.

Springfield Botanical Garden’s Native Plant Sale
The Springfield Botanical Garden is hosting a native plant sale featuring local vender Ozark Soul. Children’s Miracle Network Car Show
Bring out the whole family and help raise money for Children’s Miracle Network! Registration will start at 9:00 a.m. and go until 11:00 a.m. The cost will be $20.00. if you choose to pre-register it will only be $15. Email marshfieldwalmartcmn@gmail.com for the official forms. Featured at the event is games for the kids and craft vendors along with all of the cars and bikes. There will also be food trucks and giveaways! This runs September 28 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Kimberling Area Library Book and Bake Sale

35th Annual Wine & Food Celebration
Running October 12, this event promises an afternoon of indulgence with samples from top-area restaurants, fine wines, craft beers, and co*cktails. Guests will enjoy entertainment such as a photo booth, wine pull, raffle drawings, Plinko, and live music. Limited advance Gold tickets are available for $100, offering early entry at 1 pm, meet & greet with Lidia Bastianich, valet parking, reserved seating, and a commemorative wine glass. Silver tickets are $40 in advance ($60 at the door) and offer food and drink samples from 2-5 p.m.

Pets & Pumpkins 2024
The Pets and Pumpkins Family Festival makes a return to Park Central Square Downtown in Springfield on October 19 from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Entry into the event is $2.00 per person/pet. With paid admission, attendees can take part in all of the activities, including one of the largest pet costume parades you’ve ever seen!

Holiday Marketplace
The 12th Annual Holiday Marketplace is the place to be for all your holiday shopping. There will be homemade tasty treats, unique arts and crafts, home décor, clothing, bath and beauty products, jewelry, and much more from 80 vendors spanning across three buildings. Santa will be in the house all day Saturday to visit with the kids and take photos. Free parking and admission. This runs all day November 8-9.
